NEW PORT RICHEY - A 22-year-old Tarpon Springs man was arrested Monday, accused of pulling a weapon on a man at a bus stop and then punching him before taking his cash.
David James Spencer, of 1421 Lonesome Pine Lane, was arrested by Pasco deputies about 90 minutes after the incident that took place at Little Road and Citizen Drive, near the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and the west side government center.
The victim had been dropped off in the area, according to a report, and approached Spencer, asking him about an alleged robbery the prior day.
"You think I'm not afraid to kill you?" Spencer reportedly asked the man, pulling a weapon, possibly a knife out of his pocket.
Spencer, according to the report, then punched the man in the face and stole an envelope holding $100 out of the man's handbag.
A witness reported seeing Spencer hitting the man, and also told deputies she saw him with either a knife or gun.
The victim wasn't seriously injured.
Spencer is being held at Land O' Lakes Jail on a charge of armed robbery. His bail is set at $50,000.
