Jose Solier has been missing nearly eight months, and his family just wants to know what happened to him.
"We're just hoping for closure — that's it," his cousin Maria Rivera said. "Either he's dead or alive, but we just want closure."
Hillsborough County deputies say they have no new leads.
The 21-year-old Ruskin resident has been missing since June 24. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and jeans at a RaceTrac gas station at 3105 College Ave. in Ruskin.
His 2008 white Ford F-150 was found burned the following day at 14304 Seminole Trail in Wimauma.
His mother, who had been in Puerto Rico on vacation, returned home and reported him missing July 4, Rivera and deputies say.
Solier, who had planned to be a professional massage therapist, was on probation at the time of his disappearance for throwing a deadly missile into a building, Rivera said. He pleaded guilty to that May 2007 offense, and adjudication was withheld.
He had done foolish things in his life, but maturity and the prospect of fatherhood had caused him to settle down, she said.
Solier is the father of a 1-year-old girl.
His family believes that while his mother was on vacation, he began hanging around the wrong crew again, Rivera said.
Solier is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information into his whereabouts can call deputies at (813) 247-8200.
