Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries has signed a lease to put a new restaurant inside Sunshine Plaza, 4304 S. Dale Mabry Highway, now wholly occupied by Sunshine Thrift store. A real estate Web site also indicates a Verizon store is coming to Sunshine Plaza.

Hillsborough County franchisee Robert Dorfman said he doesn't yet have a firm timetable for opening.

Citrus Crop Estimate Shrinks

For the third time this season, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has lowered its orange crop estimate for Florida from its original forecast of 166 million boxes to a harvest of 158 million boxes of oranges. The season runs from October through June. Each box weighs about 90 pounds.

Smaller fruit, not freezing temperatures, contributed to the reduced estimate, the USDA said.

GM To Cut 10,000 More Jobs

General Motors Corp. is planning to slash another 10,000 salaried jobs this year, saying the cuts are unavoidable with a government restructuring deadline looming and industrywide sales in one of the worst downturns in history.

Most of the company's remaining salaried employees will have their wages cut.

Muzak Files For Bankruptcy

Muzak Holdings LLC, the maker of elevator music, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Tuesday to try to refinance some of its debt. Many of its biggest creditors are music companies that license songs for use on Muzak playlists. While the company is known as the creator of elevator music, its business is now more focused on creating playlists for use in retail stores, installing professional sound systems and other services.

Wal-Mart May Lay Off 800

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will cut 700 to 800 jobs at its northwestern Arkansas headquarters as it builds fewer new stores this year and makes other operational changes, the world's largest retailer announced Tuesday.
