NEW PORT RICHEY - A man who rode his bicycle to and from a 2006 bank robbery received a one-way ticket to prison Thursday.
A jury deliberated for nearly two hours before finding Dale Arthur Bradley guilty of robbery in the December 2006 holdup of the Wachovia bank on Massachusetts Avenue. Circuit Judge Michael Andrews sentenced Bradley to 15 years in prison.
Bradley, 42, gave a teller a note that said, "I have a gun, give me the money or I will shoot you. This is not a joke." Assistant State Attorney Neil O'Brien said the teller gave Bradley about $2,400.
Bradley left the bank and rode his bicycle to a nearby store, where he purchased a 52-inch television with the cash, O'Brien said.
Bradley's sister, Teresa Sendo, was among the witnesses against him. She identified him in a surveillance video shown to the jury. Bradley is also charged in a Feb. 1, 2007, holdup of the Bank of America at 6014 U.S. 19. That trial is pending, O'Brien said.
