LAND O' LAKES - A school bus with students aboard was rear-ended by a pickup truck this morning, causing minor injuries to two children.
One child was transported to a local hospital from the scene, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue dispatchers.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. at State Road 54 and Land O' Lakes Boulevard (U.S. 41) when the school bus stopped at railroad tracks, as required by law, and the pickup driver didn't stop in time, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The bus, carrying 44 students to a local elementary school, received about $2,000 worth of damage, a report states. The 2007 Chevrolet pickup driven by Sean Christian, of Land O' Lakes, received about $8,000 of damage.
Christian, 52, wasn't injured. He was charged with careless driving.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating.
