TAMPA - A New Port Richey woman was arrested on a felony gun charge after screeners at Tampa International Airport found a loaded .38-caliber handgun in her carry-on bag, an affidavit states.
Barbara Zaleski, 56, was passing through security at Airside C about 9:22 a.m. today when an X-ray operator discovered the gun, an affidavit states.
Zaleski told authorities she forgot it was in the bag and had "packed the gun to kill wild dogs that attack her sheep," an affidavit states.
Airport police charged her with felony carrying a concealed firearm. She was released from a Hillsborough County jail today after posting $2,000 bail, records show.
