MIAMI - A Florida Congresswoman is calling out Forbes magazine for including Miami in its list of Top 10 Most Miserable Cities in the country.
The publication ranked major metropolitan areas on nine factors, including commute times, unemployment and weather. It docked Miami for its level of violent crime and corruption, and said the city "has been crushed by the housing collapse."
U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said editors accepted "confusing statistics as opposed to actually visiting and getting a feel of our tropical paradise." In a statement Thursday, she cited South Florida's beaches, art festivals and cultural diversity in making a case against the No. 9 ranking.
Ros-Lehtinen has invited the financial magazine's editors and reporters to come see the city for themselves.
