Manatee County sheriff's deputies continued searching this morning for a man who opened fire on two men and a woman in the 1200 block of 57th Avenue East in Bradenton shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday.
The two men were wounded and were taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. The woman dived for cover when the shooting started and was uninjured.
Deputies said the three victims, whose names are not being published to protect their identities, were standing just off the roadway when an unknown man emerged from nearby bushes and fired five or six shots at them with a black handgun.
One man was hit in the upper legs and the other suffered a wound to the right side of his upper body. The wounds are not considered life-threatening, deputies said.
The shooter fled west on foot.
Anyone with information about the incident can call the sheriff's office at (941) 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 634-8477.
