TAMPA – - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's bomb squad was called to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino this afternoon after the casino received a bomb threat and security found a suspicious package in the parking garage.
Investigators determined the package was harmless. Orient Road has been reopened after being closed in both directions between Interstate 4 and Hillsborough Avenue, officials said.
The casino front desk received a call around 3:25 p.m. from a man who said there were four packages in the parking garage, said sheriff's Dispatch Supervisor Dennis Ahrens.
Casino security went to the garage and found a small, colorful package. "They called us," Ahrens said.
A second box that looked like a cigar box was later discovered, he said.
The casino was not evacuated, officials said.
