Albertsons is recalling trail mix and fruit and nut trail mix products sold under its store brand name because they may contain peanut products possibly contaminated with salmonella.
The chain is describing the recall as a precautionary move after a nationwide recall issued by the Peanut Corp. of America and all products produced in its Plainview, Texas, processing facility.
Albertsons says the recalled items have not been directly linked to the salmonella outbreak, and there have been no reported cases of the illness.
This product recall includes Albertsons Trail Mix UPC No. 41163-42714 and Albertsons Fruit and Nut Trail Mix UPC No. 41163-42715.
Customers who purchased the recalled items may return them to Albertsons for a full refund or exchange.
For information on salmonella, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Website at http://www.cdc.gov.
Customers with questions can contact Albertsons at (877) 932-7948. Customers may also visit the FDA Web page at www.fda.gov for more information and updates.
