Former big-league manager Kevin Kennedy will join the Rays' television team, the Tribune has confirmed. An official announcement is expected Monday.
Kennedy will be the primary replacement for analyst Joe Magrane, who left last fall to join the MLB Network. Brian Anderson, who filled in for Magrane for a few games last season and will be working as a coaching assistant again for the Rays this season, also will work some games alongside Dewayne Staats.
The 54-year-old Los Angeles native most recently worked on Fox's studio show while also contributing to Dodgers telecasts. He previously managed the Rangers (1993-94) and Red Sox (1995-96), compiling a 309-273 record.
