Man Accused Of Trying To Meet Children For Sex

A 26-year-old Jacksonville man has been arrested on charges he tried to meet two young children in Hernando County to have sex with them.
Officials said Adam Daniel Shepherd fled when Hernando deputies tried to stop him when he showed up at a home where he had arranged to meet the children, ages 6 and 9.
While fleeing, his truck struck an unoccupied vehicle at Mariner and Northcliffe boulevards. Shepherd was later arrested in Pasco County south of State Route 52 and Highway 41.
He is being held in the Pasco County Jail without bail, officials said.
He was charged with traveling to meet a minor to engage in sex acts.
Further details of the ongoing investigation were not immediately available.
