FORT LAUDERDALE - Authorities say two British visitors were killed in Fort Lauderdale when a Porsche believed to
have been in an illegal street race jumped a curb and plowed into them.
Investigators were still searching Saturday for the drivers of the two sports cars. One of the vehicles was found abandoned on a freeway interchange after the fatal wreck early Friday morning.
Witnesses said the cars were going so fast they couldn't even determine the make and model.
The two victims were 39-year-old Lewis Elford and 48-year-old Kenneth Watkinson. The men were only a few dozen feet from their hotel when the accident happened.
