Stokes, Bulls Cruise Past Pirates

TAMPA - Janae Stokes led South Florida with 20 points as four Bulls finished in double figures in a 80-51 drubbing of Seton Hall on Saturday night.

The win was the Bulls' first at home in four games after losses to Louisville, Georgetown and Marquette. Bulls coach Jose Fernandez said he was pleased with his team's intensity.

"It was good to see us come out with energy and enthusiasm on our home floor," Fernandez said.

Jessica Lawson and Jasmine Wynne each scored 14 points for South Florida (18-7, 5-6 Big East), while Shantia Grace added 10 points and five assists as the Bulls shot 49 percent from the field.

Seton Hall (15-9, 3-8) was led by Ebonie Williams with 14 points.

KANSAS 54

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Courtney Paris had 15 rebounds and nine points, failing to score in double figures for only the second time in her career, and Amanda Thompson helped pick up the slack with 16 points as Oklahoma (22-2l, 10-0 Big 12) beat Kansas (13-10, 2-8).

Paris, a 6-foot-4 senior, tied her career low in scoring and played 26 minutes.

NO. 7 BAYLOR 72,

MISSOURI 43

WACO, Texas - Danielle Wilson got off to a fast start and finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead No. 7 Baylor.

Wilson was 11-for-13 and matched her career scoring high as Baylor (21-3, 9-2 Big 12) won its fourth straight game since back-to-back home losses against conference-leading Oklahoma and Texas.

Wilson scored eight of Baylor's first 13 points.

NO. 10 LOUISVILLE 67,

CINCINNATI 52

CINCINNATI - Angel McCoughtry scored 33 points and made the decisive plays down the stretch, helping No. 10 Louisville extend the best start in program history.

Up by only two at halftime, the Cardinals (23-3, 10-2 Big East) pulled it out behind their all-time leading scorer, who had her fifth 30-point game of the season. The senior guard scored 25 in the second half.

Kahla Roudebush scored 22 points for Cincinnati (13-11, 3-8).

NO. 12 TEXAS A&M 79,

COLORADO 50

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Tanisha Smith had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 12 Texas A&M to its sixth straight win against Colorado.

Texas A&M (19-5, 7-4 Big 12) never trailed and at one point pushed the lead to 50-24. Colorado was led by Brittany Spears, who had 25 points and 10 rebounds.

NO. 23 S. DAKOTA ST. 93,

UMKC 61

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Ketty Cornemann and Kristin Rotert each scored 16 points and No. 23 South Dakota State tied a school record with 16 3-pointers in extending its winning streak to 10 games.

The Jackrabbits (24-2, 13-1 Summit League) finished 16-for-28 from 3-point range. They had eight 3-pointers in each half.

VILLANOVA 50,

NO. 25 DePAUL 46

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Maria Getty scored 12 points, Laura Kurz added 10 points and nine rebounds and surging Villanova (17-8, 9-2 Big East) won its seventh straight game.

Sam Quigley scored 13 points and Natasha Williams added 11 for DePaul (19-7, 7-5), which had won six of seven entering the game.

TAMPA 60, BARRY 59

MIAMI SHORES - Tampa rallied from an 18-point second half deficit, sending the game to overtime on a 3-pointer by former Holy Names standout Gianna Messina, before edging out Barry (14-9, 5-7 SSC).

Messina led the Spartans with 17 points, while Tiara Cook added 15. The Spartans (18-5, 8-4) trailed 34-16 early in the second half before rallying to tie the game as time expired.
