Zephyrhills Woman Dies In Sumter County Crash

A 64-year-old Zephyrhills woman died this afternoon after her car hit a power pole in Sumter County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Ruth Forrester died at the scene of the crash on County Road 468, east of Interstate 75 and south of Wildwood, the highway patrol said.
Forrester was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry west on C.R. 468 about 2:30 p.m. when the car went off the road. The driver's side of the Toyota struck a power pole, troopers say.
It is unclear why the car went off the road. The crash remains under investigation.
