TAMPA - Trash blanketed Seventh Avenue early Sunday morning, the last vestiges of a party that drew thousands of people to Ybor City for the annual Sant' Yago Illuminated Knight Parade.
"There was garbage all over. You could see thousands and thousands of beer cans," said Juan Antonio, a worker with the Ybor City Yes Team.
At 3 a.m., three hours after Antonio and his crew went to work, the trash was everywhere. By 8:30 a.m., Seventh Avenue was mostly clean, except for a few beer bottles and broken strands of beads near the curbs.
As for those hauled off to jail, Tampa police reported only three arrests for minor charges. Today, the police department expects to release an estimate of how big a crowd the parade drew.
