TAMPA - Tampa police are searching for a man they suspect of trying to rob a 7-Eleven early this morning.
Police say Michael Anthony Bearden, 37, went into the convenience store on West Waters Avenue at about 12:30 a.m., acted like he had a gun and demanded the clerk give him money.
The clerk refused, and the robber left the store, where a clerk following him outside tried to stop him from leaving. After a brief struggle, the robber drove away in a dark green Jeep Cherokee. A witness wrote down the license plate number, and police have since found the Jeep.
Bearden is described as a white man, about 5 feet, 11 inches, 200 pounds, with green eyes, brown hair and several tattoos on his arms. Anyone with information is asked to call Tampa Police, 813-231-6130 or Crime Stoppers.
