SHADY HILLS - Florida Highway Patrol troopers continue to investigate a fatal crash this morning involving three vehicles, including a semi-truck.
The crash occurred around 9 a.m. at County Line Road and Runyon Drive, just south of the Hernando County line.
Roosevelt F. Morin, 75, of Spring Hill, died at the scene, according to the highway patrol, and 24-year-old Daniel A. Giddings, also of Spring Hill, was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa where he was listed in critical condition.
Morin was leaving the parking lot of Dollar General at 11155 County Line Road, trying to make a left turn and drove into the path of Giddings' Honda, which was heading west, a report states. The impact spun Morin's Mercedes into the westbound lane while Giddings' car went into the southern shoulder and overturned, ejecting him.
Giddings, according to troopers, was not wearing a seat belt.
Morin's car then traveled into the path of a semi-truck, striking it and pushing them both into the west and center-turn lane of County Line Road, according to the report.
The road was shut down briefly because of a fuel leak from the semi-truck, the report states.
The truck driver, Craig A. Toland, 49, of Brooksville, wasn't injured.
