White House: Stimulus Plan Impact On Florida: 206,000 Jobs

The new economic stimulus plan would create or save 206,000 jobs in Florida, according to estimates released today by the White House. In its state-specific estimates, the local breakdown of new or saved jobs would be:

• Congressional District 5 (includes Pasco, Hernando, Citrus): 9,600

• Congressional District 9 (includes Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas): 8,200

• Congressional District 10 (Pinellas): 7,100

• Congressional District 11 (includes Hillsborough and Pinellas): 8,200

• Congressional District 12 (includes Hillsborough and Polk): 8,800
