ST. PETERSBURG - An upscale St. Petersburg neighborhood is suing one of its residents because he consistently parks a boat trailer in his driveway.
The Venetian Isles Homeowners Association on Feb. 12 filed suit in Pinellas circuit court against Christopher Thompson, who lives at 1976 Kansas Ave. N.E., according to a copy of the lawsuit.
The association says in the action that it attempted to get Thompson to comply with the association's rules before filing the lawsuit.
According to the association's covenants, which were filed in 1978, any resident of Venetian Isles is prohibited from parking a boat trailer overnight on his property unless it is within an enclosed garage, the suit says.
Reporter Stephen Thompson can be reached at (727) 451-2336.
