Pinellas County deputies arrested a man they say was caught in a sting Wednesday when he traveled from Oklahoma to Florida to meet two underage girls for sex.
James Edward Sanders, 58, had been talking to what he thought was a mom willing to give him access to her two children, one younger than 12 and the other younger than 16, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Unbeknownst to Sanders, the mom he started talking to Jan. 7 was actually a detective in the sheriff's Crimes Against Children unit.
Detectives said they arranged to meet Sanders in north Pinellas County on Wednesday, but they have not released the location.
Sanders, a former law enforcement officer, was arrested on charges of certain use of computer services prohibited and traveling to meet a minor for unlawful activity.
