TAMPA - Walt Disney World has launched its most severe discounting ever as it combats slumping attendance and a decline in visitors' discretionary spending.
Disney is offering a Florida resident discount with a two-day ticket for $99 plus tax and $83 plus tax for people ages 3 to 9. The Magic Your Way tickets are valid for one theme park per day, and the same person has to use the two-day ticket.
The price of a single-day Disney ticket for Florida residents is $67.50 plus tax and $56.70 for children ages 3 to 9. Regular prices are $75 and $63.
In Disney's latest offer, tickets must be purchased by May 20 and used within 14 days of first use. They cannot be used from April 4 to 18 and expire May 21.

Attendance at Disney's Orlando theme parks fell 5 percent for the quarter ended Dec. 31.
The company has offered Florida discount packages in the past that reduce the per-day cost of attending its theme parks, but they often were for multiple days and required larger outlays of cash. This year, Disney began offering free admission on a patron's birthday, with online registration required, and has discounted its rates at Disney resorts.
The company, for example, is offering savings of up to 44 percent a night for stays through April 2.
