Noles Rebound, Beat Hurricanes

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton wasn't sure how his young team would respond to its first blowout loss of the season, a 23-point defeat at Wake Forest on Saturday.

Now he knows.

The youthful Seminoles scored a season-high 50 points in the second half on their way to a crucial 80-67 win against Miami on Wednesday night in front of an energized crowd of 10,458 at the Civic Center. With the victory, FSU is now 20-6 overall and 7-4 in the ACC - the first year since 1993 that the Seminoles have won 20 games in the regular season.

"The Wake Forest game kind of shook us up a little bit," Hamilton said. "It kind of woke us up."
