Brush fires have popped up in several places around the Tampa Bay area, sparked by windy and dry weather conditions.
Firefighters have put out a brush fire behind 18902 and 18094 Wood Sage Drive in the Watergrass Subdivision off New Tampa Blvd. Units from Tampa, Hillsborough and Pasco counties, as well as the Division of Forestry, all worked to put out the blaze.
The fire burned for about an hour before flames were knocked down. Crews stayed on scene until about 3:30 p.m.
At least 10 acres burned, but no property damage was reported.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
In Pasco County, just south of where brush fires threatened homes earlier this week, firefighters worked to douse hot spots that had been rekindled.
A Bartow intersection is closed because of limited visibility caused by a brush fire, according to the Bartow Fire Department
U.S. 17 at State Road 640 has been shut down because of smoke.
