INDIANAPOLIS - The Bucs are looking to get bigger and tougher in the middle of their defensive line. One move – the signing of likely free agent Albert Haynesworth – could achieve both objectives.
Tampa Bay is rumored to be one of the teams that will strongly consider signing the Tennessee Titans' defensive tackle should he hit the open market, and Bucs coach Raheem Morris pretty much confirmed those rumors here at the combine Friday.
"I'm not even sure if it's legal for me to talk about him yet, because [free agency hasn't] started yet, but he definitely has talent, he's definitely on the radar and we'll see when that time comes,'' Morris said in response to a question about Haynesworth.
Haynesworth has said he will definitely test the free agent market in search of a long-term deal that guarantees him approximately $30 million and averages about $12 million per year.
