Summerfield Youth Basketball League Prepares For Draft Day

RIVERVIEW - The draft for the Summerfield Crossings Basketball League is scheduled for Feb. 21 at the Summerfield Community Center, 13011 Summerfield Blvd.

Boys and girls in grades six to eight will compete in the middle school division, and players in grades nine to 12 will play in the high school division.

"So far registration is going pretty well, but we definitely have more slots available for our middle school teams," said Chelsea Greene, program director.

League coaches will select players for their teams during draft day. Players must be registered by draft day to participate.

The season tips off March 14. The league will play its eight games on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Registration is $55 for Summerfield residents and $60 for nonresidents. The fee includes a team jersey and goes toward the cost of a planned All-Star Day at the end of the season for all players.
