Repella Leads Mountaineers Past Bulls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Liz Repella had a career-best 34 points and added 13 rebounds to lead West Virginia to a 90-75 victory against South Florida on Saturday night.

Repella played every minute, and went 10 of 17 from the field and nine of 10 from the free-throw line as the Mountaineers (15-11, 4-9 Big East) handed the Bulls (18-9, 5-8) a dispiriting loss.

Jessica Lawson scored 22 points, had 12 rebounds and added seven blocks, but the Bulls struggled from 3-point range, going only 6-for-22 (27 percent) from outside, including 2-for-13 in the second half.

Shantia Grace scored 17 for the Bulls, while Jazmine Sepulveda added 10.

PITTSBURGH - Shayla Scott converted a three-point play and made two free throws during a decisive 14-0 run during the second half and Pittsburgh (20-5, 10-3 in Big East) overcame some subpar shooting to beat Cincinnati (13-13, 3-10).

TAMPA - Former Holy Names standout Gianna Messina scored 23 points as Tampa earned its 20th win for the fourth straight season with a victory against Florida Tech.

The Spartans (20-5, 10-4 SSC) also got 13 points from Kym Taylor, while Tiara Cook has 12 and Caitlyn Mitryk 11 against the Panthers (17-8, 6-8).

FORT LAUDERDALE - Stephanie Sarosi scored 26 points to lead Nova Southeastern (11-14, 7-7 SSC) past Saint Leo (10-15, 2-13).
