TAMPA - A 26-year-old Tampa woman has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving an injury to a pedestrian.
Deputies say Dana Bechara drove off following the crash at Waters Avenue and Dale Mabry Highway this morning but later returned to the scene.
The pedestrian, 59-year-old To Phan, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. Details on his condition weren't immediately available.
The crash occurred about 8:46 a.m. today. Bechara was heading west on Waters when Phan ran across the road in front of her, deputies say.
Bechara drove off but came back, deputies say.
"According to witnesses, the driver could not have taken any evasive action due to the pedestrian running into the path of the vehicle," a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office news release states.
