Workers at the Pinellas County Animal Services shelter first named the somewhat independent minded puppy Petey.
But on further review, Mickey might be more appropriate.
That's because a marking on the puppy's back is a remarkably close match for the iconic logo of a mouse made famous by Walt Disney.
The black marking on the puppy's white fur looks like those caps with Mickey ears that kids clamor for at Disney World.
"It jumps right out at you. I don't know why I didn't notice it right away," says Tracey Manemann, adoption coordinator for the shelter.
Petey, or Mickey as Manemann has taken to calling him, appears to be an American bulldog about 12 weeks old.
