Former Tampa resident Joel Rush, a 27-year-old software salesman and male model, came in second place on the season finale of the ABC reality show "True Beauty" Monday night in a competition that judged character as well as physical beauty.

The winner was Julia Anderson, a 23-year-old dancer, magician's assistant and former beauty queen from Texas. She gets a $100,000 cash prize and inclusion in the next 100 Most Beautiful People issue of People magazine.

Rush, originally from Indiana, had been living in Tampa for more than five years when he entered the competition last year.

"I came in with every intention of winning and I gave it my all," he said at the conclusion of the program.

He told The Tampa Tribune last week that he has since given up his Tampa job, relocated to Los Angeles and signed modeling contracts with major agencies in California and New York.

Judge and host Vanessa Minnillo said Anderson was the only person in the competition to pass every challenge of character from teamwork and compassion to honesty and humility.

Spears' Dad Seeks Restraining Order

Britney Spears' father testified Monday about why he felt a long-term restraining order should be issued against three people, including the singer's former manager and an ex-boyfriend.

Calling Osama "Sam" Lutfi a "predator," Jamie Spears said he thought his daughter's one-time friend and manager was a danger to the family.

He acknowledged under questioning by Lutfi's lawyer that he was not aware of any conversations between his daughter and Lutfi. The only evidence of communication between the two was a recent call Britney Spears made to Lutfi.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva K. Bobb delayed ruling on the restraining orders until at least Wednesday, and extended a temporary restraining order against Lutfi, Adnan Ghalib and lawyer Jon Eardley until Wednesday.

Daughter Given OK To Visit Falk

A judge says Peter Falk's daughter can meet with her ailing father.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva K. Bobb on Monday granted Catherine Falk a 30-minute supervised meeting with her father within 30 days.

Catherine Falk's attorney says she has not seen the former "Columbo" actor in approximately six months. She has filed to establish a conservatorship for her father, who she stated has Alzheimer's disease.
