TAMPA - The driver of a tractor-trailer that flipped on Interstate 75 this morning has been extricated from the cab and airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, officials said.
Craig S. Brown, 34, of Live Oak, suffered serious injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said. He was conscious.
The truck was carrying crushed corn and wheat grain when it overturned on southbound I-75 at Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Very little of the load spilled, Tampa Fire Rescue Capt. Bill Wade said.
Cleanup of the spill along the median lasted several hours, but traffic wasn't affected, troopers said.
Brown has been charged with careless driving, troopers say.
