Black cats are the cat's meow at the Save Our Strays Black Beauty Adoption Event. Until March 14, these pretty kitties — all vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered — can be adopted for $35. They'll be featured daily at Pet Food Warehouse, 6155 18th St. N., St. Petersburg, or Saturdays at the PetSmart locations at Tyrone Boulevard, Largo Mall and Countryside mall. EASY WAY TO SPAY

If you've got a potential mama cat and no desire to find homes for a litter of kittens, get a deal on spaying her this month at Pinellas County Animal Services, 12450 Ulmerton Road, Largo. WALKING ON SUNSHINE

Let your pup take you on a stroll from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at Honeymoon Island State Park during the 17th annual Mutt Strut. The mile-long race is free, but donations of $25 or more will get you a T-shirt, goody bag and a bandana for your dog.
