Dad: NBC Didn't Give Suleman Time To Rest

Nadya Suleman's father told Oprah Winfrey on her talk show that his daughter was under duress before giving an interview to NBC's Ann Curry and should have been given time to recover from giving birth to octuplets.

"They took her out of the hospital by midnight to a secret location," Suleman's father Ed Doud told Winfrey on the show that aired Tuesday. "They did not even give her a chance to rest, to sleep, where she's still under medication and not feeling well.

"They bombard her with all these cameras," Doud said. "I am not saying that they kidnapped her. What I am saying is that it absolutely should have given her a little time until she heals at least and not be under so much medication."

The NBC interviews with Suleman aired Feb. 9 and 10 on the network's "Today" and "Dateline" shows. She gave birth to the eight babies Jan. 26 and was released from the hospital Feb. 5.

"NBC News stands by every aspect of our interview," NBC said in a statement. "Contrary to her father's allegations, we did not take Nadya from the hospital and the interview, which was conducted with respect, took place at a time of her choosing."

Actor Talks To Obama About Darfur

George Clooney apparently had a good reason for skipping out on Oscar night: He had a meeting with President Obama.

The actor appeared Monday on CNN's "Larry King Live" via satellite from the White House lawn and spoke of his visit that morning with Obama about the humanitarian crisis in Sudan's Darfur region.

Clooney said he told the president of his visit to camps in Chad where 250,000 refugees live.

Clooney also confirmed that he and Juliana Margulies will appear in the "ER" finale.

Friends To Reunite On 'Tonight'

NBC says Andy Richter and Conan O'Brien will be back together again on late-night TV.

Richter, who worked with O'Brien for seven years on NBC's "Late Night," will become the "Tonight" show announcer when O'Brien takes over from Jay Leno as host in June. NBC said Richter also will take part in comedy bits.

O'Brien called Richter a friend and one of the funniest people he knows, but couldn't resist a joke: O'Brien said he's looking forward to their reunion because Richter owes him $300.
