Arrest Records Staying Longer On Hillsborough Jail Web Site

Until now, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Jail Web site only contained mugshots and arrest details on people arrested within the past five years.
The site, http://www.hcso.tampa.fl.us/, recently changed. Now it has photos and arrest information on all people arrested since Jan. 1, 1995.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said the site was updated in response to questions about why the site only goes back five years, since arrests are public records.
"You can now find any of the information you need," Carter said.
Those seeking to have their records sealed or expunged can go to http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/expunge.
