TAMPA - A 79-year-old woman drove into a vacant shop at the Palma Ceia Village shopping plaza this afternoon, police said.
Lili Blau was not hurt in the crash about 2 p.m. at 3225 S. MacDill Ave. No one else was injured.
Police said Blau hit the accelerator and her Lexus smashed through the plate-glass windows of an empty shop. They had no financial estimate of the damage.
Officers cited Blau with careless driving.
Police said they will recommend to the Department of Motor Vehicles that she be retested for her driver's license.
