TAMPA - Police accused a woman of beating her 15-year-old daughter with an electrical cord after she learned the child did not go to school.
Shauntel Latrice Patmon, 38, of Tampa is charged with felony child abuse. She was released from a Hillsborough County jail today on $2,000 bail, records show.
According to police, Patmon became angry on Wednesday after discovering the 15-year-old at her sister's apartment during school hours. Upon arriving home, Patmon struck the girl repeatedly with an extension cord, leaving "excessive marks" on her arms, legs and thighs, police said.
Police arrested Patmon at her apartment about 7:40 p.m. after a relative called for help.
