Event Promises Plenty Of Deals

NEW PORT RICHEY - As spring cleaning comes around this year, many people are looking to clear out their closets and make a few dollars in the process.

You can find a lot of deals Saturday at the community garage sale Greater New Port Richey Main Street is holding in conjunction with its Saturday Downtown Market.

The garage sale is set to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Cavalaire Square area, east of Grand Boulevard between Nebraska and Missouri avenues.

"The time of the year is perfect for a garage sale, and with today's economy, it makes sense to sell some unneeded items cluttering the house," said Judy DeBella Thomas, Main Street's executive director. "At the same time, people are looking to save money on something they need that someone else may not want."
Table space for the garage sale is available for $10, and sellers will have to provide their own tables, chairs and sunshades. All sorts of household items can be sold, but sellers should refrain from bringing furniture to sell because of space limitations.

The Good Connections thrift store will take unsold items sellers don't want to take home, Thomas said.

Applications for the community garage sale must be filled out in advance and are available by calling Main Street at (727) 842-8066.
