Florida Strawberry Festival Focusing On Kids Today

PLANT CITY - Today is Kids Day at the Florida Strawberry Festival; youths through high school are admitted free all day, with ride prices reduced. Here's the daily schedule:

10 a.m.: Gates open; midway opens

All day: Poultry and rabbit shows, CF Industries Ag Tent

11 a.m.: Plant City Civitan Club's 36th annual Youth Parade forms at Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Boulevard and Alexander Street; awards presented at festival office after the parade

Noon: Dairy show showmanship, TECO Livestock Arena
2 p.m.: Dairy show, TECO Livestock Arena
3:30 p.m.: Jake Owen, GTE FCU Soundstage

5:30 p.m.: Strawberry wedding, gazebo

7:30 p.m.: Grupo Climax, Sweetbay Showcase Tent; Third Day, GTE FCU Soundstage

The festival grounds are at 2202 W. Reynolds St. Admission tickets purchased at participating Sweetbay Supermarkets are $8 for ages 13 and older, and $4 for ages 6 to 12. Admission prices at the gate are $10 for adults and $5 for youths.
