TALLAHASSEE - Senior guard Tanae Davis-Cain reached the 1,000-point plateau in her career as the Florida State women's basketball team defeated UCF 82-70 Wednesday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

The victory extends FSU's (11-4) winning streak against the Knights (2-11) to nine and is the Seminoles' 13th victory all-time against their in-state foes.

Davis-Cain, the 22nd player in program history to score at least 1,000 points in a career, finished with a team-high 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting.

HARTFORD, Conn. - Renee Montgomery scored all of her 20 points in the first half to lead top-ranked Connecticut (12-0) past in-state rival Hartford (5-7).

Montgomery, who hit nine of her 11 shots, moved past Hartford coach Jen Rizzotti into 12th place on UConn's all-time scoring list with 1,545 points. The Huskies, coming off a five-game road trip, won their 30th consecutive home game.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Chante Black scored 17 points and Abby Waner added 13 as No. 6 Duke (11-1) won its ninth straight game, beating Providence (6-6).

EVANSTON, Ill. - Jantel Lavender had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Ohio State (11-2, 2-0) past Northwestern (4-10, 0-3) in the Big Ten.

NORTH CAROLINA STATE: Coach Kay Yow, 66, missed a third straight game Wednesday because of health issues. She is battling a recurrence of the breast cancer.
