Deputies have arrested two Venice residents who investigators say robbed a Bank of America in Sarasota today.
Sarasota County deputies arrested 32-year-old Heath L. Cowger and 22-year-old Courtney Hanshaw.
About 5:45 p.m., Cowger approached a teller and produced a note implying he had a gun, a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office news release states.
He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and got into a pickup driven by Hanshaw, according to the release. A witness saw Cowger get into the pickup and gave investigators the vehicle's tag number.
Deputies stopped the truck and arrested Cowger and Hanshaw. A firearm, cash, a note and a disguise were in the pickup, deputies say.
