CRUISING TO THE CLASSICS: The Dade City Cruise-In will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. around the historic Pasco County Courthouse, 37918 Meridian Ave. Hosted by the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce, the monthly cruise-in draws hundreds of classic and vintage vehicles to downtown, where a disc jockey plays tunes to add to the ambiance. There also will be vendors, and downtown shops will remain open during the event.

POCKET CHANGE: The Zephyrhills Coin Club will hold a coin show from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge 3752, 4259 New River Road at the corner of State Road 54. Admission is free. For information, call (813) 779-1649.

EAT AND SHOP FOR CAUSE: The Cotee River Lions Club will hold its monthly "all you can eat" breakfast and flea market from 8 to 11:30 a.m. The breakfast consists of pancakes, eggs, sausage, home fries, grits, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice. The donation for the breakfast is $4 and benefits the Cotee River Lions Handicapped and Braille Trail Park on the banks of the Pithlachascotee River at 8320 Plathe Road, New Port Richey (north of Trouble Creek Road and south of Massachusetts Avenue between Rowan and Little roads).

NO GREEN TO GO GREEN: Learn new methods of eco-friendly living at The Green Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 10 at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52, Dade City.

HEATING UP THE DISCUSSION: Join a discussion on global warming from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 9 at the CARES Rao Musunuru Enrichment Center, 12417 Clock Tower Parkway in Hudson. The discussion will be moderated by Bill Griffiths.

Griffiths is a concerned grandfather who thinks the global warming discussion could use some new contributors. Griffiths will give a 30-minute lecture on the basics of global warming, followed by an exchange among all the attendees. For information, call the center at (727) 863-6868.

A LITTLE JAZZ: Dade City jazz musician Valerie Gillespie will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 10 at The Garden Club in Dade City.
