Witnesses Sought In Winter Haven Pedestrian Death

Winter Haven police are looking for anyone who saw a pedestrian fatally struck crossing First Street South near Avenue A Southwest on New Year's Eve.
Henry Robert McGonigal, 51, of Winter Haven, was struck by a southbound Ford van at 6:12 p.m., Sgt. Brad Coleman said.
McGonigal was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center and died three hours later.
No charges had been filed against the van's driver, 32-year-old Willie Kelly of Winter Haven. An investigation was under way.
