Like most folks, I made up a short list of New Year's resolutions last week.
When I read it over later, it struck me as funny that I started with "abs, abs, abs" and ended with "be nicer to everyone."
I wonder how many other people took the same tack with their priorities for 2009. Do we just get meaner in mean times?
On that note, it'll be interesting to see how we treat our soon-to-be first family once they move in to the White House this month.
There is, of course, the very serious matter of Michelle Obama's wardrobe (Page 8), which already is the source of much scrutiny. And then there's this fascination with Obamifying (Page x) every word in the English language. It started out as kind of fun (Barackstar) but also has a negative side (Obamaboozled, Obamunism).
You have to wonder what will happen when that new puppy comes into the picture. And then there are the parenting issues - can the leader of the free world lead his own kids by example (Page xx)?
Hmmm. And I'm worried about my abs ...
