SARASOTA - A mother slashed her baby in the face with a knife during a spat with her boyfriend during the weekend, according to a Sarasota police report released today.
Both the woman, Stacie Carr, and her boyfriend, William Geeslin, were arrested after officials showed up at their home in the 1600 block of Oak Street.
Carr, police say, cut the baby on Saturday with a butcher knife and then attacked Geeslin, who was holding the child. But when paramedics arrived to help the baby, Geeslin refused and backed himself into a corner.
Officers pinned one of his arms and snatched the child away. The baby was treated and is expected to be OK.
Geeslin reportedly attacked a paramedic — by spitting blood in the man's face — and badly hurt a nurse's arm by squeezing it in the emergency room.
The couple were charged with numerous felonies and are being held in jail.
