TAMPA - The role Tampa's seaport has played throughout history will be the focus of a display to debut at the Tampa Bay History Center's new building, which is scheduled to open on Jan. 17.
The Tampa Bay History Center's "Port City" exhibit is sponsored by The Mosaic Co., which has phosphate operations in west central Florida.
The new 60,000 square-foot history center is on a 2.4 acre site along Garrison Channel on Tampa's Riverwalk. The center originally was at 225 S. Franklin St.
