Aquarium Holds Contest For Wedding With Dolphins

CLEARWATER - The dolphin that received national attention for getting a prosthetic tail will help a lucky couple exchange vows on Valentine's Day.

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is giving away a free wedding package, where one couple will be chosen to get married on a platform over the main dolphin pool. The aquarium's dolphins - Nicholas and Winter - will assist in the nuptials.

Winter was found tangled in a buoy line when she was three months old. The line cut off the blood supply to her tail, causing it to fall off. She was eventually fitted with a prosthetic tail to help her swim.

Interested couples should submit a photo and explanation of why they should be chosen to weddingcontest@cmaquarium.org. The winning couple will be chosen Jan. 19.
