"We're out of time. Things are going extinct." So said a Stanford University biologist (Terry Root) alarmed about global warming ("Obama Can't Wait To Tackle Climate," Views, Dec. 28).

Wow, I didn't know. And here I was, selfishly glad that a Tyrannosaurus Rex wasn't snapping at my rear end.
