David P. Feaster was named president and chief executive officer of St. Petersburg-based Cornerstone Bank, which has eight Pinellas locations and more than $320 million in assets, the bank's board of directors announced this week.
Feaster was area president of Whitney National Bank in St. Petersburg, which acquired the Signature Bank in 2007 for $61.7 million.
Feaster was a founding member and president and chief executive of Signature Bank and also was an executive for The Northern Trust Corp. in Tampa Bay.
He is well known for his support to bring Major League Baseball to Pinellas County and backing of the Tampa Bay Rays, including creating the Whitney Bank Club, an upscale dining club in the Tropicana Field right field mezzanine.
"David has been a community leader as well as an outstanding bank executive in Pinellas County for over three decades and brings excellent experience and community involvement to our bank," Paul J. Skipper, chairman of Cornerstone Bank, said in a release.
Feaster will maintain an office in Cornerstone Bank's main office at 6300 Fourth St. N.
