Lashina Thompson-Brown was operating a 2000 Chevrolet under the influence of alcohol while her 5-year-old son was in the vehicle without a seat belt on, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Deputies charged Thompson-Brown, 23, of Tampa, with child abuse, driving under the influence and not having a valid driver's license.
She was stopped Tuesday night at Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Holly Court.
Thompson-Brown, whose first name also is spelled Lashenia on the Hillsborough County Jail Web site, was seen driving erratically by someone and reported, and a deputy then saw her stopped at a green light, according to a criminal arrest affidavit.
She smelled of alcohol and had red, watery eyes, and a breath test gave a blood-alcohol reading of 0.198, the affidavit states. Florida law presumes a driver impaired with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 or greater.
She remained in Orient Road Jail today. Her bail was set at $2,750.
