Tampa Teen Accused Of Shooting Boy, 6, In Leg With BB Gun

Radford Remington Richardson III shot a 6-year-old boy in the lower right leg with a BB gun, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Deputies arrested Richardson, 18, of Tampa, at 5 p.m. Tuesday. He was charged with aggravated child abuse.
The boy had a reddish, swollen mark on his leg after the shooting, and Richardson held him down so he wouldn't tell his mother about the shooting, a criminal arrest affidavit states. After letting the boy go free, Richardson threw the BB gun into a pond, according to the affidavit.
Richardson later told police he shot the boy and that he tossed the BB gun into the pond, according to the affidavit.
He remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail has been set.
